One Tree Wooden Bow Archery Equipment

Archery equipment for everyone...Beautiful bows, arrows, quivers, and bow making tools...
Pacific Yew longbows, flatbows, arrows, quivers...traditional and primitive archery equipment for sale by master bowyer, Clark Dennill. In addition, Clark's furniture features exquisite designs, exotic woods, and impeccable joinery.

Selfwood bows, or self bows, scultped from a single piece of yew wood. No fibreglass or laminations!

The Pacific Yew used for the self backed longbows is harvested in the rain forest of the West Kootenays, B.C.  Staves are seasoned for up to  ten years and crafted with precision.  Self backed longbows have been  used for centuries, often out performing other bows for strength, durability, and beauty. The creamy white sap wood of the Pacific
Yew is showcased in a self backed longbow.  When a bow is drawn, the back of a bow is under tension and the belly of the bow is compressed.  Not only is the contrast between the heartwood and the sapwood a thing of beauty, the combination naturally provides strength and resilience under this tension and compression. Leather handles add to the comfort and beauty of the bows. The longbows are  finished with several hand rubbed coats of oil and waxed for a  durable finish.  Each bow comes with a canvas and leather bow bag and a
 flemish twist string.

There's nothing like shooting a beautiful wooden bow! Ask about custom bows made to your specifications.

Exotic hardwood overlay nocks are durable, functional, and beautiful.

Longbows

Prices range from $900 - 1200 Can

Flatbows

For archers who prefer a bow that can be used for both hunting and target shooting, the flatbows are self backed yew wood and dyed to conceal the white sap wood.  These bows are shorter in length and higher in draw weights. Draw weights can range from 50 to 65 lbs with bow lengths from 60 to 68". Flatbows have a shorter draw length than the English style longbows ranging from 24 to 27". These bows are powerful and smooth shooting.  The flatbow is not only strong but handsome as well, with hardwood overlay nocks, hand rubbed finish, and leather handles.  Each bow comes with a canvas and leather bow bag and a Flemish twist string.

Quivers

Crafted from locally harvested red cedar bark, these  hand-woven quivers are primitive, functional and beautiful carriers for your arrows. Quivers are available for $175.

Arrows

Arrows are spined to match the draw weight of each bow. Shafts are made from fir, pine, or yellow cedar and have a hard wax finish. Each arrow is hand crafted and fletched with turkey feathers.  Personal preferences for fletching colors and styles can be accomodated. Arrows are $65 for six.

Arrows cannot be under rated in the performance of a wooden bow. Are your arrows spined to match your bow?

Dear Clark,

Thank you for the 52#@27" Pacific Yew self bow.
I previously shot a Bickerstaffe Special English long bow, and
a more modern laminate longbow.

I searched out One Tree because I wanted a unique, beautiful wood self bow that performed as well as my others.   I was also impressed that Clark hand harvested each tree that became a bow in his shop.

The natural straight wood grain, and the contrast between the sap wood and the heart wood, give it a traditional look and feel all it's own.

It shoots smoothly and quietly.  There is no hand shock. It shoots as beautifully as it looks!

Dear Clark,

I got the arrow shafts that you sent me and they are excellent! They outweigh the 11/32" shafts that I've been using and are much straighter...a definite plus. If you ever arrange one of your bow making clinics in the area, let me know and I'll be there. Thanks again for not only making the shafts, but also getting them here quickly.

Dear Clark,
I, of course, am very tickled with the bow and the arrows.  It's very reassuring to me to see craft of this quality surviving in the WalMart world.  Your letter was a final, exquisite civilized touch, and I appreciate very much the care and high regard for quality so manifest in the bow and arrows themselves.

Thank you.  Please use me as a reference for future customers if you would like to.  Everything you did was first-class.

Dear Clark,
Well, the Masterpiece arrived today!

When I heard the good news, I couldn't almost wait, and went straight back home from work.  Thank you very much for this very unique and personal bow.

After reading your nice words I couldn't wait to have the bow strung for the first time. One can really see the force in the magnificent Yew wood. For the drawing weight,  I trust that I will soon be able to shoot the bow, by using it's full power. Once again, thanks to both of you!

The bow arrived yesterday and it is everything I could have hoped for!  It is sooooooo beautiful!!!  I have not taken her out dancing yet, but will get the chance this weekend.  BTW, everyone that has seen the bow has been blown away.  She's been called the most beautiful bow they've ever seen!
